Life in Tijuana & Family
Things have been going well here in Tijuana, serving with YWAM San Diego/Baja. I been able to continue serving with "Homes of Hope" house builds. It's always a blessing to see teams give their time to come and build a home for a family. Seeing the families be impacted with the Love of Jesus, makes every moment so worth it. The hours spent painting and framing, all to give a home to a family, to give kids their first bed, and a roof over their heads is such a joy. I shared with a team member that "Once this becomes routine, then I'm doing the wrong thing". This is my passion, to love on the people. And you are very much part of that. Thank you for standing with me! For believing in me and all the lives that are being reached with His love. Thank you!

New adventure 2020
I know many of us area already making Thanksgiving plans, Christmas plans. I really enjoy the holidays. But it's a also a reminder that another year is ending, and something new is to start.
Well I have some big news! Nope, not marriage , nope not a car..
But I have been invited to New Zealand! I am so excited! I will be going to Tauranga, New Zealand for 4 weeks to attend a course with YWAM Furnance. It is called the "One Thing Internship.
Some info from YWAM Furnace, school description:
This four-week intensive is for anyone to give a month of their lives to an intentional pursuit of this reality. The One Thing Internship is immersed in a mission campus with a Prayer Room at its centre, surrounded by people committed to seeing worship and prayer fill the nations.
The Lord is bringing Prayer and Missions together in our generation like never seen before. Out of this movement, a great harvest of souls will be brought into the Kingdom of God before Jesus’ return. Central to the global outpouring of the Holy Spirit is the cry for believers to gather in the place of prayer, fasting, and extravagant worship to seek the face of God.
The One Thing Internship will give a foundation for the vision, values, and expression of both personal and corporate prayer and worship. You will grow in both the knowledge and understanding of God, who continually invites us to partner with Him in prayer, that His great purposes would be accomplished on the earth.
The foundation of our internships are built upon this: encounter God in a community of worship and prayer, behold His beauty through simple devotion, and develop a lifestyle of enjoyable prayer.
I want to have further training and understanding about Prayer & Missions, to be able to implement it more here in YWAM Tijuana, and this course does just that.
I am so excited for this opportunity, and don't want to miss out. The 4 week course, including housing, meals, educational cost, and some travel expenses will be around $1,500 USD. The air ticket is costing about $900 USD.
Would you prayerfully consider giving toward this opportunity. Any amount will be a blessing!
Thank you again fro all your prayers and support, as you are in mine

So as my team and I boarded the plane to head to Mongolia, we knew this would be an adventure. The 4 of us were eager to know how it will be to be in Mongolia. I truly love to travel. Surrounded with different people, all with different stories, and backgrounds. Yet here am I, traveling 12+ hrs not knowing how it will be, what will happen. But only reminding myself that God has sent me.
So as my team and I arrived in Mongolia, it was defiantly a culture shock. But we were so eager to go and do what we been called to do. Upon arrival we were told we are to go and explore the city of Ulanbaatar, the capital on Mongolia, as tourist do. We walked the streets, City plaza, and ete Korean/ Mongolian food. And we were to always identify ourselves as tourist, we just happen to be Christians and had the responsibility to share His love to those who have not yet heard.

We started by traveling 9hrs to the countryside on a bus and arrived in another small town, can’t say the specific name. And for the next few weeks we planted sees, as we served alongside some great Mongolian host and translators and amazing team from New Zealand. Each morning, we would divide in smaller groups and would go out and distribute Bibles, sharing about God’s love and promises to people. We would go and go door to door, in this case Yurt to Yurt (Nomadic homes in Mongolia) sharing testimonies, Bible stories and passing out SD cards that contained audio bibles. You see, there is a vision called “Endinng Bible Poverty Now”. And the vision is for every person to have a Bible in their mother tongue, to have access to the word of God and understand it. And that’s what we did, to go and distribute His word to our brothers and sisters in Mongolia, even those who have yet to hear. It was an amazing time, many salvations and healings.
There were a few days where we went to another part of the countryside. We were hosted by an amazing Mongolian family. Upon arrival, we were told that there was to be a celebration, Milking of the first Mare (Female Horse). This only happened once a year, and we were able to be part of it. This was a great opportunity to give more Bibles, share His love, and build relationship with out new Mongolian friends. But of course, there was one thing we had to do, we were to drink Fermented Horse Milk, yea you read correctly. Mongolian culture, especially in the countryside has a tradition of drinking the fermented horse milk during the celebration. Let’s just say there is nothing like it, but even if my stomach didn’t agree, it was worth it. Seeing people so hungry to hear more, and eager to get a bible. It was all worth it. And you are all part of the movement that is happening in Mongolia. Thank you for standing with me, for making this happen. For believing along with me. We will End Bible poverty together for the rest of 1,000+ languages that are waiting for a bible to be translated in their native tongue. Let’s continue to do our part. Commit to Pray, Give, Go!!
Shortly after returning after Mongolia. I was able to enjoy to 1 week on a mini vacation on our staff retreat. It was an amazing time, a time of rest, relaxing, and spending time praying about what is next. And just a great time of fellowship with other staff. I realized I needed this time to just rest. I needed to take time for self-care. As I been going and going all summer with different projects. It was a reminder that I need to rest in order to keep going.
And when I got back, I was reunited with my family, especially my nephew who brings me so much joy. I was also to be part of a Women’s conference this past weekend. It was a great to time to share the message of Empowerment! Sharing with them that we can. Allowing God to lead us and take us where He calls us to. I also got to share what God has been doing here in Tijuana . Its been great to be back to taking part of different ministry projects in our community. Serving in Zona Norte with out “Hope Zone” children’s ministry. And this year I am part time student in our Leadership and Management School. We are in Module 1, where we are learning about Spiritual leadership. We have our classes once a month and divide our own time to read books, and writing assignments. So far things are going well.
One of the biggest needs, Physically and financially is the need for a vehicle. As you know a couple months ago, I had to walk away from the vehicle I was making payments on, since it turned out the car just never worked. The dealership was a bit unfair, but I’ve had to forgive and forget. But I need a running vehicle. I been using Uber and local transportation. But it has become a big expense for me.
If you feel lead to give towards the purchase of a vehicle, any amount will be much appreciated. Uber gifts card are also appreciated until I have my own vehicle.

Peru!!So I just got back from Peru!! It was truly an amazing time. It was a short trip, but I was challenged stretched and learned so much during my time. Miracle 139 International is such a great organization, and was completely blown away by the team I got to serve alongside with during my time.
There was 12 of us in all, many of the team members are professionals in Special Needs Education. We were able to divide in 3 different groups. Two of the groups went to a special Needs school about 45min away from Lima in Comas, Peru. One group helped do more training sessions with the educations as well as oversee some of the classrooms, making sure the training that has been done over the last 2 years is being applied and emphasis on inclusion in some of the other schools. My team was the activities group where we would model a lesson plan with different themes each day. Making sure kids can learn using kinaesthetic, verbal, visual ways. I learned so much when it was my turn to oversee a lesson. These kids are kids, they just learn differently. So learned to modify a lesson and craft, for those who are non-verbal or need more of a hands on guidance to complete the task, including crafts. This helped the teachers and assistants in each classroom, including some of the parents who go to school with their child every day. I really enjoyed serving along with my two teammates, Kendra Nicole. And really hope to continue to learn more so that I may bring this project to Mexico. My highlight is when we got to bless two families with wheelchairs that were needed. My team and I assembled them, got to meet the families, 3 adults with physical circumstance and share a word of encouragement. And then they went home with their free wheelchairs! Such a great trip overall, amazing time serving in Peru with Miracle 139 international. Thank you for all your prayers and support as you are in mine. thank you for making this happen! |
here a couple of videos that shows some of the things my team and I did. Our awesome videoagrapher and photographer, Adam Lanser captured these images.

asia here i come!
i am happy to announce I will be heading out to Asia next month for 3 weeks starting August 13th. I will be going with a small team from YWAM San Diego/ Baja to do Bible distribution in some rural areas. This is all part of a vision to distribute 400,000 materials to the nation we will be going to. We will also be doing evangelism and prayer walks. I can't share the specific area I will be going to, but if you would like to know more specific, just text, call, message me.
My team and I will be joining the "End Bible Poverty" ministry and will be placed in a community. I am very excited to have this opportunity. After talking with my leaders, continuing to pray, I felt lead to go. I have been having dreams about this place and opportunity. So I feel that I am to go and share what God has placed on my heart, to share His truth to people who have yet to know. It's going to be an incredible time!
I already have my plane ticket purchased, but will need just about $1,000 for travel expenses, food, accommodations (some will be camping style, so will need to purchase some trip supply, in country transportation. If you feel lead to partner with me and give, here's how. Thank you again for all your prayers and support!

I can't believe we are already at July. Seems like this summer is sure passing by pretty quickly. It's been a great few months since the last time I sent out an update. God has truly been at work in me and through me. Thank you all for your prayers, financial support. For making all of this happened. For taking the time to send me encouraging messages and phone calls, even when life is so busy at times. thank you for standing with me, allowing me to make this life a bit easier. Blessings!
"Development starts with me"
Well our Community Development School has come to an end. The last 3 months has been a blessing to walk along side these amazing students & staff. Being able to see them learn new things every week, expand on their knowledge about Biblical Worldview and Development, see their transformation has brought me so much joy. I can be honest and tell you, that at first I had self doubt. Helping staff this school is not only a huge commitment, but stretches you as a leader. I was blessed to be part of this season with these 18 students, and blessed to be part of some amazing staff who got to oversee this course.
Every week our students would serve with other ministries by holding workshops in different communicates, They truly made an impact in so many people. I was blessed to serve in Hope Zone during this time. Hope Zone is under YWAM and serves in Zona Norte to family and kids having bible classes, music class and women's group every week. It allowed me to get to know others better and grow in my community i am serving in. Thank you for all your prayers.

love my family times
I truly love my family and friends. They have been so so supportive the last few months helping me raise funds for my upcoming trip to Peru. My parents held a Dinner fundraiser in my hometown. And family & friends donated items for raffles. It was so incredible to have everyone chip to to make this possible. I don't take that for granted and know truly blessed I am to have such an amazing family.
I was able to spend some time with my extended family as well, as we had a family wedding. I was able to see family that came from Mexico City who I hadn't seen a number of years. It was so great to see them and share stories and catch up. love them.
And my parents and grandma, and my aunts and uncles spend a few days here at the YWAM Tijuana campus, we had such a great time. It's great to live in a community where you can have family and friends stay on campus to visit, to relax and enjoy. I'm glad to be living here.
I also got to celebrate my birthday a bit earlier this year with my family and of course my nephew who had to blow the candle. I don't get to be home for my birthday too often as it's the summer and things can get busy. But glad I had a few days to spend with them, and also celebrate Emilia, my best friends daughter, who I have come to love her like a niece. Such a great time together.

peru & Mexico
Well I know many of you thought I had already gone to Peru and come back (that's what happens when you don't read all my post hahahaha) But I finally leave for Peru July 14-July 22nd. I am super excited to be joining Miracle 139 International once again for this great opportunity.
And just in case, Miracle 139 International is a organization that Improves the lives of children with special needs internationally through awareness, training and support. We will be serving at a Special Needs School, overseeing some classrooms and providing some training as needed. And the other half of the team will be helping at a local church that have adopted inclusion and will be providing training and support for their special needs classroom along with some great volunteers. Thank you everyone for making this possible!!
And this week I was able to help host a team on a great Homes of Hope build. I truly love the leaders of this team, John & Jane Ray, and have known them for numerous years. I was so glad to finally join their team, "Olivia's Basket" to provide a home for such a great family. I enjoyed every minute of our weekend building together, and will not forget. I don't forget any of the house builds I get to be part of. It's not just material, wood, nails and cement. It's a second opportunity for this family to really have. Your support allows me to be part of these amazing moments. Thank You!

So again, I want to thank you for taking the time to read these updates. For standing by me and believing along with me for Big things here in Tijuana, Mexico, Peru and more. Your giving makes a huge difference.
So some of you have been asking about my car and what happened to that situation. Well it was pretty bad situation. I had been wanting to build credit and was financing a car. But turned out the vehicle never worked, the dealership sold me a lemon car. It would have been different but it was a sale and contract that came with a "Warranty" not a "As is Sale". so the dealership just never fulfilled what they sold me. I know it would have been different if it was "As is Sale" then I would be fully responsible, but this was not it. At the end I walked away from contract, I did loose deposit. But sometimes you just need to forgive and forget. I know God will provide the right car at the right time. For now, I'm not worried about it.
I did have some financial changes happen the last few months. I know things come in waves. I completely understand, it happens. I knew it would happen. This change is having me make some adjustments in my life. I know people come and go in my life, it's not always easy to be living and working in full time ministry. And as I shared last time, I don't want you to feel "Committed" to give. But I merely want to share some of things going on in my life, financial needs and ask you to prayerfully consider how you may be able to give and be part.
The last few months I did post a GoFundeMe campaign for my trip to Peru. But I really don't like to make these campaigns. Although they are a great tool to let people know about some of those opportunities. I was mostly using it to share about Peru and fundraising the extra trip cost.
But perhaps you can pray about giving just for part of the year. $25, $50, $100 a month. This financial support goes towards living expenses, trip expenses, and now taking an Uber to make my medical appointments in San Diego. And once a month I go a visit my family, so it covers travel cost. Because my strict diet due to health, I need to buy some of my groceries as well. Which I can share, things with my health have been amazing!
.
If you feel lead give in any way. One time or monthly support. Please call, message me or follow the link. Perhaps you can even help buy giving Gifts Cards to some of the Grocery Stores I go to, it's another way of giving. (Walmart, Sprouts,Grocery Outlet

Family time
Hi everyone,
I know I shared an update not too long ago. But I wanted to give a short update about a few things that have been going on. I know you probably saw on Facebook that I had the opportunity to take a mini vacation with my family to Arizona. It was the first time my parents was able to experience the Grand Canyon!! We had an amazing time as a family. A time very much needed to rest, enjoy Gods beauty. Just great quality time as a family. I am so glad i had this opportunity. I also had an opportunity to meet up with some dear friends while I was there. It was all great!

Community Development School
We are going into our 3rd week of our school. The students are doing amazing!! .They are all grasping the key points of Community Development so well. They are all so creative and are eager to learn. Last week we started teaching in different communities. Where we began workshops called the "Transformation workshop". Where they get to teach to men and women in different parts of Tijuana lessons of Biblical Worldview, Transformation, Community Development. It's been great!.
Health-life is good
So some people have been wondering and asking about my health lately. Well I am happy to share with you that God has done a lot of healing!! I feel amazing!! My energy is back, I haven't been to ER in many months (I use to o 2 or 3xs per month). I no longer need GI medicine. Let me remind you what I was diagnosed with a couple of years ago.
I have something called "Gastroparesis".is a condition in which your stomach cannot empty itself of food in a normal fashion. ..Pretty much my stomach is paralyzed. More info in the diagram. I was in constant pain and experiencing nausea frequently. My doctor told me if I didn't improve then a GI tube would be needed since I was so malnourished. Food was my worst enemy!! But today, I feel amazing, eating well and weight is stable. I did seek out a nutritionist along with the guidance of my GI physician and a friend who sells health products. It's not always easy as I'm now on a strict eating lifestyle. It can get costly, but I'm investing in my health. And to be feeling so good pain free is all worth it. I believe this is part of my healing. Thank you all who have been praying, your words of encouragement, thank you!

Your Giving
Last month I did reach out and shared some of my specific financial needs. Which again, I don't like to do that on these kinds of updates. But I am learning to share more about some of those needs so that people will know what exactly is going on, how they can pray or perhaps financially partner with me.
I lost some financial support, and that's ok, I completely understand. I knew it would happen. Which is having me make some big adjustments in my life. I know people come and go in my life, it's not always easy to be living and working in ministry. I understand. And I don't want you to feel "Committed" to give. But I merely want to share some of my needs and ask you to prayerfully consider how you may be able to give.
Perhaps you can pray about giving just for part of the year. $25, $50, $100 a month. This financial support goes towards living expenses. A vehicle payment, which I need to go to my physician appointments in San Diego and once a month I go a visit my family, so it covers fuel cost. And because my strict diet, I need to buy some of my groceries as well.
My goal is to increase my financial budget by $250 per month.
If you feel lead give in any way. One time or monthly support Please call, message me or follow the link. Perhaps you can even help buy giving Gifts Cards to some of the Grocery Stores I go to, it's another way of giving. (Walmart, Sprouts,Grocery Outlet)
Thank you for your time.

Vol 19, Issue 2 March- April 2019
It's been a great couple of months, busy but always good. So many things going on here at our YWAM Tijuana Community, a lot to be grateful for. We had our Spring quarter Discipleship start and now they are getting ready to head on a 2 month outreach (mission trip) next week. Our students will be going to different parts of Mexico, Cambodia & Hong Kong! Time is sure passing by around here, but I'm glad to be part of many things that God is doing.
In February we had our Annual staff conference. It was great to have all 3 of our campuses together. To be able to pray, worship and hear what God has been speaking to us as a community. Many times as a Community we get so caught up with things being so busy, that we just need to be still and be on the receiving end of things. Such a great time!!

Spring time & ministry!
w
February and March I was able to continue serving in our Homes of Hope ministry, which I truly enjoy, as we continue to bless more families and our teams who are willing to come all the way to Tijuana to give and serve. I really enjoy serving alongside some amazing teams, staff who every week go out and bless so many families. Of course this is just one of the many ministry projects we have happening here in YWAM Tijuana. We go out to different communities such as "Zona Norte" to do Hope Zone, a ministry for families. Our Discipleship Training School who is now on their way to Hong Kong and different parts of Mexico for the next 2 months, it's great to see students grow and see them transform, find their identity in Christ then go out and share the Gospel!
I have continued to serve in Zona Norte when possible with Mexico RED, the Feeding and Education Center being run by my friends Keith & Maya.
I also been able to connect a lot more to my community, especially after the staff conference. Taking that initiative to take the time with people, coffee times, great conversation to get to know some of out new staff as well. It's been a blessing.
I was also able to go home to my families and celebrate my mom's birthday!! I had such a great time! I always enjoy being with my family. Especially family birthday's.
It's finally Spring!! It's my favorite time of the year. And although this season doesn't last very long. It reminded me of the time I am in. In the middle of a something new, something to come. something growing. How God prepares and something beautiful comes forth. Just like the Spring blooms with so many flowers all around me now..it rains for months and months, your annoyed because of the wind and the cold the wet ground. Expecting it will never stop. But then it does..and then the beautiful flower grows in full bloom. That's the place I been, waiting for this next step, because I know it will be worth it.

what's next?
So as I been praying and asking God for direction for this next few months. I was invited for a great opportunity. I am so excited to share with you! I will be helping staff the Community Development School which starts April 11th. We have about 20 students at the moment. Last year I completed the school as a students and now my role will be school staff.
I am really excited for this opportunity, and although this school is only 3 months, I love the fact for the next 3 months I will walk alongside some amazing students, learning and digging deeper about Missions. To Discover God's intentions for communities and what they need to thrive. To learn about what God has to say about Holistic Development and how they can be a Catalyst in their Community! I'm so so excited for our students and our staff as well. Please be praying for us as a School.

Need your support
So I normally don't share on my quarter updates about my financially situation. As I want to share all the good that God is doing. But I want to be vulnerable right now be honest and so that you can also pray.
The last few months I been struggling a bit with my finances. I have lost 3 monthly sponsors. And I know people come and go in my life all the time, and I know times are hard. God has called me to live a life that is not always easy. But I want to make my need known. Yes I am struggling a bit financially speaking. Praise God I have a roof over my head, food to eat, clothes on my back. And last year I prayed about financing a vehicle to build my credit, as that is not always easy as a full time missionary. As I also needed a car that wouldn't leave me stranded 3-4 xs a month. So I had to get a vehicle that was reliable to get my to the many doctor appts I have every month, and need to keep my doctor appts and follow up appts 2-3 x's per month. And also ministry times in Zona Norte. And yes, to visit my family as well.
But I can't do this alone, and need your help. I need to increase my monthly support by $200- $250 per month. So if you would like to partner with me and give $20, $30, $50, $100 per month, any amount, you will be making such a difference. I normally don't reach it with this kind of need. But I wanted to be more specific.
Thank you for taking the time to read, for always following, for your prayers and partnership. For believing in what God has called me out to do.

Vol 19, issue 1 Jan-feb 2019
New year, new me, new season!
I can't believe how fast this year seems to be passing by. Of course it could be because I been keeping busy with a few projects. It's been a blessing to be back on the swing of things here with YWAM San Diego/Baja after a holiday break. The first few weeks in January I was able to help host a few house builds with some amazing teams. But before I share about that. I wanted to thank you all for standing with me, for making the beginning of another great year such an incredible blessing. To be able to live out what God is calling me to do, to live out my passion serving here in Mexico, sharing the love of Jesus to the people of Tijuana, especially in Zona Norte most recently has been amazing! Daily walking by Faith seeing His grace. And you are all part of the journey with me. Thank you for your prayers, words of encouragement and financial contributions. You are making an impact here in Mexico along with me, so thank you for your faithful support. For believing in what God has called me out to do. I am celebrating 17yrs of Full Time ministry, seeing so much of Gods promises being fulfilled, and wouldn't trade this life for any other, until God says.
Homes & Ministry
So as I was saying, in January I was able to participate in several "Homes of Hope" builds with some incredible teams! I really do enjoy this project. A home is not just a home, just wood, or cement foundation. It is a second chance for a family. Perspectives are changed for the family receiving a home and the team participating in the house building. A family sees the love of Jesus thru acts of kindness and words. Lives are truly transformed on both sides. Hope is restored. It is amazing. Keys are given! A 2nd chance. It's my favorite part. And you are very much part of that. Thank you.
zona norte & more
So as you might have been seeing on some of my post. I have continued to served in Zona Norte, Tijauana in different ways and several days a week. Sometimes with Mexico RED, and now joining YWAM Hope Zone. You might be asking yourself, "Why Zona Norte"? or "Why is this place?"
First, let me tell you a bit about this place, Zona Norte is Tijuana's Red Light district, and it is among the largest red- light district in North America known for it's brothels which present themselves in public as strip clubs and bars. Prostitution is very visible along the streets, drug addictions and more. There is a lot of homelessness in this area, many being deportees who have lived on the streets for years, never having a home of their own and falling into cycle of drugs as well. And of course the recent increase number of immigrants being young families living in nearby shelters.
But this has only made me have more compassion for these men, woman and children in Zona Norte when I began to go while finishing with my Community Development School Outreach, I knew I wasn't done. So when possible I try and go and serve Mexico RED, and people of this community who desperately need Jesus. All opinions set aside, we are called to love on those in need. No judgment. And that's what I been doing. I'm there to listen, to do what Jesus set an example for us to do. Embrace the broken, help the needy, feed those who are hungry because that is what He is asking me to do. To see them the way He does. I know it can be difficult to understand, we may each have opinions or may not even agree, and that's ok. But if I have clothes on my back, food to share then why not? I am filled with Joy every time I share a cup of coffee with someone, hear their story and make them smile. And you are very much part of that. These kids are receiving education, food and clothes.
I recently also began to serve with one of YWAM's project called Hope Zone in educational program with some of the kids who are attending. This was out first week. We began the week with Bible distribution, then did some Math classes. It was such such a great time to see the kids learn and accomplish!! I was super blessed.

car..car..car!!!
Well I wanted to wait until it was official, big news..I have a NEW CAR!!! (New to me) Do you guys remember my old car? It literally kept breaking down, overheating, something ..every few months. It was a money pit. Although the first few years were great, I think the last stretch was just too much for my old Honda.
So after praying, researching, and talking to my friends and family. I decided it was time for a different car. Well since I am in full time missionary, I really have been trying to work on my credit. If you been in my position, you know what I'm talking about. So I decided to finance a car, so I can build credit. I was going to raise the funds to buy a car. But building credit is smarter since I don't get that opportunity often. So God made a way and financial support, I was able to get a 2006 Hyundai Sonata with great low payments. In hopes that in 11 months I'll trade it in or a better vehicle! I am so happy with my car!! No longer having to worry with being left on the side of the road, and just so much happier. Thank you for making this happen! God is so so Faithful

I know this was a long update, but long overdue. Thank you for standing with me, for making all this happen. Homes of Hope, Zona Norte, you allow me to serve in different projects in that community. And you are very much part of the lives that are being impacted. Thank you so much, and for taking the time to read.
Blessings! Teresa Deleon
